Wisconsin summers get hot and humid. And sometimes, despite our best efforts, the humidity can make us feel uncomfortable and cranky. To combat that, use these suggestions to reduce humidity at home and to help you feel happier.

So many people ask themselves the question, “Why should I keep up on preventative maintenance for my air conditioner or heating system?” There are a number of good reasons as to why. All of them benefit YOU, the customer.

Summer is beautiful in Wisconsin. There are so many opportunities and events to get outside and enjoy the short lived season. Fortunately for us, the city of Madison comes to life in the summer. A big highlighted event for the city is Concerts on the Square present by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. This event is held every Wednesday, on the square, for 6 weeks. The first concert is the last Wednesday in June and the last concert is the first Wednesday in August. Read on to see how the BUSIEST concert of the season went!

The Hooper / General Heating and Air Conditioning Foundation loves to support a good cause. Especially when that cause helps one of our own. Kurt Hedstrom, General Heating and Air Conditioning Project Manager,  spends time coaching the Stoughton Area Little League teams.

On Sunday, July 8, 2018 Stoughton Baseball hosted its annual Stoughton Area Little League Tournament at Oak Knoll Park. There were nine teams particping between the Minors (third and fourth graders) and the Majors (fifth and six graders).

Annually, the Little League season is from April to June with a concluding tournament being held in July.

But here is the best part, our very own The Hooper team, defeated the Conant Automotive team with a 7 to 5 win. They went on to win the Minor League championship.

From all of us at General Heating and Air Conditioning, we are so proud of both the Hooper Foundation Team and the General Heating and Air Conditioning team. Thanks to the Stoughton Area Baseball for hosting such a fun summer event that the kids love! Hats off to everyone that participated!

At General Heating and Air Conditioning safety for both our employees’ and customers’ is a top priority. As temperatures start to raise higher and higher it is important to remember that heat related illnesses can occur. Taking a nod to our number one core value, safety, let us review and discuss the three types of heat related illnesses that can occur during the hottest months of the year.

As the days start to get warmer and warmer, it is a perfect time to recognize our HVAC technicians. June 22nd was National HVAC Tech Day and we are sharing a few reasons why these technicians deserve some love.

On Saturday, June 16th, several of our employees attended the annual Clean Lakes Alliance Loop the Lake event.  The Hooper Foundation / General Heating and Air Conditioning is a proud sponsor of Loop the Lake.

With summer just around the corner, you may find yourself needing a new air conditioner. Getting a new air conditioner is a big investment – one you want to make sure you get right. Before you invest, make sure you are going to be happy with the outcome, which starts with both the unit you choose and the installation process.
