GHAC Service Tech Wins Scholarship
One of our own service tech’s was recognized on Monday evening, October 10, at the Madison ASHRAE Chapter Meeting.
Paul Purdy (3rd Year Apprentice at General Heating) and Benjamin Redalen (3rd Year Apprentice at H&H Industries), both with the 601 Steamfitter’s Union, were recognized as HVAC Technician Scholarship recipients. The October meeting is the Chapter’s Student Night where all students are invited to spend the evening with industry leaders in the Madison HVAC engineering community. Scholarship recipients were introduced and presented with scholarship certificates, participated in dinner and social hour, then attended a technical presentation on Demand Reducing HVAC Design.
The Madison ASHRAE Chapter annually awards up to four $500 HVAC technicians scholarships to qualified area steam fitters and service technicians as well as four $1500 engineering scholarships to 4-year engineering degree students at UW Madison and Platteville. All scholarship recipients must be taking classes towards working in the HVAC industry.
Congratulations to Paul and Ben!
