Project Update: Hamel Music Center

The Hamel Music Center is a nearly $56 million facility that will fill an entire open space immediately adjacent to the Chazen Museum of Art.

When GHAC secured the Sentry Insurance project in Stevens Point, it marked the second project GHAC has worked on in Portage County (the first was the UW-Stevens Point Chemistry Building).

The expansion of Illumina in Research Park continues to put Madison on the map in terms of leading the pharmaceutical and biotech research and manufacturing industry.

General Heating and Air Conditioning was selected to install the first phase of Ford Motor Company’s geothermal borefield in its downtown Dearborn, MI campus.

Brakebush Brothers is a manufacturer of chicken food products in Westfield, WI. General Heating and Air Conditioning (GHAC) has been working on installing the HVAC and process equipment for a new process chicken line.

The Steamfitters Local 601 Training Facility is located at 6310 Town Center Drive in Madison. The building is set to be complete in August and will be LEED certified.

The Harvest Haven project located across the street from the Sub-Zero plant will be completed in the Fall of this year. This building is unique for several reasons but one that is most notable is the structure itself — a 100 year old barn.

General Heating and Air Conditioning has a quarterly newsletter that is distributed to employees to provide them updates on projects, events, employees, etc.

Catalent Pharma Solutions is a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company that does trial tests for many of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Catalent had a need to expand their production lines and allow for future growth, so they initiated a 22,000 square foot addition that will increase manufacturing, office, and laboratory space. This project is expected to create more than 100 new jobs.

The CAD department had a busy 2016 and this year will be no different. Some significant BIM/CAD projects for 2016 included Baldwin Hospital, Epic Campus 4 and 5, Stevens Point Chemistry Building, ATC, and the Marquette Replacement Hospital which started later in the year.
